Not-So-Smart, No More iOS 6 smart Banners

"Smart Banners" are one of the many things that got introduced in iOS 6 that really should not have been made. How it works is when you visit a mobile web site that has an application in the App Store Mobile Safari bugs you with a 'smart' banner that tells you to get the app. It gets ridiculously annoying so "Nikos Lykousas" made a tweak to stop it. Once it is installed the tweak completely hides all smart banners in Mobile Safari.
"You can't call something like this "smart" in any way..."
                                                  Nikos Lykousas
"Not-So-Smart starts working right after the download and doesn't have any setting to configure.

Tweaks of the Week 11/17/2012

This week we have some great tweaks. Most of them I use on a regular basis now.
Lets start off with...

InstaSafe: This tweak is handy for iOS 6 because a lot of the tweaks on Cydia don't work on iOS 6 and I personally get in respring loops all the time and this tweak is great for fixing that. Basically what this tweak does is it puts a little button on your springboard that says "SafeMode", once you tap this button it sends you straight into Safe Mode so you can delete the problematic download. This tweak is great and handy but there is one problem  that it has... the button is very easy to hit on accident. But other than that iMast777 did a great job with this tweak.

NoNewApp: NoNewApp is a simple but good tweak. This tweak removes the "New" banner on newly downloaded apps in iOS 6 or iOS 6.0.1. I'm currently running iOS 6.0.1 and i find this great because I hate badges and anything of that sort so this is my kinda tweak.

Facebook for Action Menu: Facebook for Action Menu is something that I'm surprised Apple didn't put into iOS 6 because it just goes perfectly with the Facebook integration. With this addon for "Action Menu" you can share any text throughout iOS to Facebook. To do this just select the text you want to share and tap the "Facebook" option in Action Menu. This is something that i think should already be in iOS 6 but who cares its in it now.

DateCarrier: DateCarrier allows you to have the date shown where your carrier should be. Its a very handy tweak that I'm definitely keeping. The only thing that is a downfall is that to update the date each day you have to respring, but I'm OK with that cause its a great tweak.

New Tweak "Facebook for Action Menu" Share Text Using iOS 6's Facebook Integration

So far there is only a tethered jailbreak for iOS 6.0 and 6.0.1, but there are still great tweaks out for iOS 6. This is a new plugin for a great app called Action Menu. This plugin allows you to share text from anywhere on iOS to Facebook. Using the plugin is easy, just highlight the text you want to share then from Action Menu press the Facebook button. You can enable and disable this plugin in the Action Menu part of Settings including any other option in "Action Menu".

Incredibly handy and go's perfectly with iOS 6.

Jailbreak Update 11/15/2012

I'm going to do this article a little different today let me know how you like it. I'm going to write what happened in the jailbreaking community in chronological order.OK here we go.

November 9: p0sixninja or Joshua Hill posted a tweet "The current status of a iPhone 5 jailbreak is grim. I'm working on something bigger and few people share with me anymore." Now at this point we don't know what he's talking about but it gets much better... @133tdawg tweeted "@p0sixninja What could be bigger than an iPhone 5 jailbreak?" And then p0sixninja let the world know "BootROM and decryption keys for A5/A5X/A6/A6X" So after that post the jailbreaking community had gone crazy, but the sad part was most of us that were exited had really thought to much of that statement. p0sixninja didn't have a jailbreak around the corner and even if he did it would take a while to be a public download. So MuscleNerd came in and cleared things up tweeting "BootROM hasn't even been dumped since 2010, let alone crashed or exploited."

November 10: p0sixninja and 133tdawg are still talking about that BootROM idea that p0sixninja is working on and p0sixninja tells 133tdawg "I've been making some good progress." So p0sixninja could be going somewhere with this idea that seems slightly crazy.

November 12: The only important thing that happened on the 12th was very exiting, planetbeing showed a picture of his iPhone 5 running IntelliScreen X!

November 13: This is the last day in the update on the 13th once again planetbeing posted something he tweeted "Can't say much, but we're still missing critical pieces so it's not releaseable right now." So the good thing is it might be almost done.
And with that I'm going to leave you with some websites that are frauds.

Apple To Begin Trial Production of iPhone 5S In December?

The iPhone 5 is a very popular iPhone especially in its first weeks like all iPhones.  But it has had a few problems like the screen glitches when you swipe to fast. Article here. And also people have been complaining a lot about how it doesn't fit in their hand as well as the other iPhones.  So Apple is preparing to begin a trial production of a new iPhone 5, possibly the iPhone 5S in December.  Initial product volumes are thought to be around 50,000-100,000.  And they are rumored to enter volume production in the first quarter of 2013.

NoNewApp, Get Rid Of "New" Banners In iOS 6

Earlier today "iMast777" made a tweak called "InstaSafe" witch put a SafeMode button on your SpringBoard. He also released another tweak today called "NoNewApp" which is a great tweak for the app down-loaders of iOS 6 or iOS 6.0.1. This tweak basically gets rid of the "New" banner that gets placed on the apps that you have just downloaded from the app store.Of course to get this you must be running iOS 6 or newer.

A great simple idea with no settings to configure (that's always good) and has one specific purpose that it does correctly, I personally hate the "New" banners because i find them annoying and this is great.
